A trip to a French town twinned with a Cumbrian one is being organised, with an open invite.
Cockermouth Town Council said its trip to Marvejols, a small town in southern France twinned with Cockermouth in October 1983, will happen this October hald-term.
Each year, the anniversary of the twinning is celebrated by a party from each town in alternate years, the council said.
The journey, by coach, will have an overnight stay in Paris both ways, and the visit’s host will be a person or family local to Marvejols.
Those who are interested in joining the trip are asked to call Cockermouth Town Hall on 01900 821869 or email admin@cockermouth.org.
