RESIDENTS of a local market town have come together to keep a Good Friday tradition alive.
The Brampton community alongside members of the town's churches came together for the Good Friday Walk of Witness.
The event saw the cross carried to Brampton's Market Place where it was erected and a Good Friday service was held.
The Walk of Witness is a nationwide event and represents unity among the Christian community on Good Friday.
A spokesperson said: "The Nationwide Walk of Witness grew out of a belief in the power of Christ working through united Christians, witnessing, working, and walking together.
"Right across the denominations, Good Friday gives a unique opportunity to present a united Christian Witness. Instead of highlighting our differences, it illuminates our common faith in the saving power of Jesus Christ through the Cross.
"Good Friday says that the Christ that seeks to dwell in each of us is one and the same and available to all."
