A unique hotel with the rare feature of allowing pilots to taxi their planes directly up to its entrance is up for sale.
The White Heather Hotel, situated on the Kirkbride Airfield hangar, Wigton, is on the market for a price of £795,000.
The business, which is being marketed by Christie & Co Hotels, has been described as an "exciting opportunity" for potential buyers.
The airfield is primarily used for leisure flights, refuelling stopovers, and hosts regular events attracting numerous visitors such as The Kirkbride Airfield Open Day and Fly-in, which returns on May 26.
The White Heather Hotel was purchased by its current owners in 2019, and since then, several areas of the property have been refurbished and upgraded.
The premises houses six bedrooms (five of which are en-suite), two bars, a restaurant, a commercial kitchen and a conference room which can hold up to 300 people.
A spokesperson from Christie & Co said: "A unique opportunity to acquire what is believed to be the only hotel that you can taxi your plane up to, park overnight and fly away after breakfast.
"The business trades well but offers much scope to increase revenue as the current owners only operate the bar, restaurant and conference facilities two days a week.
"The rooms are available for all flights as required however this gives significant opportunity to increase revenue.
"The building plot could also generate revenue depending upon whether a property is developed or if the land is used for camping pods or caravans," they said.
Those listing the property indicate that the turnover for the year ending November 30, 2022, was £235,000.
