Teenage Carlisle boxer John Joe Carrigan will continue his bid for another European title on Thursday after making a successful start in Croatia.
The Border City Amateur Boxing Club star is representing England in the EUBC Youth Championships.
And Carrigan got the better of Israeli opponent Idan Moshe in his first round outing in the under-71kg category in Porec.

Carrigan’s performance led the referee to stop the contest as the young Cumbrian moved into the last eight.
He will now take on Azerbaijan’s Ziya Hasanov for a place in Friday’s semi-finals, with the final held on Sunday.
Carrigan is hoping to win his second European title with England, having become EUBC junior champion in Romania last year.
