THE search for the owner of a paddleboard was stood down late last night (April 12).
An unattended paddleboard found in the middle of Derwentwater, with the ankle leash snapped, sparked an urgent search for its owner.
A spokesman for Keswick Mountain Rescue team said: "A search of the lake and lakeshore was initiated with the various agencies including the coastguard helicopter. At 10pm the various teams stood down. The owner of the paddleboard remains unresolved."
At the time, Police issued an urgent call to the public: "If this is your paddleboard and you have made your own way to safety, please can you call Cumbria police on 101 quoting log number 215 of April 12, 2024."
