A CRASH on the A66 has closed the road in both directions for much of the afternoon, causing significant traffic delays.
The crash occurred between Scales and Penruddock before 2pm. The road was closed as emergency services attended.
Drivers have been warned to avoid the area throughout the afternoon as delays are starting to build.
Cumbria Police said in a post on X at 2pm that the road is expected to be closed 'for several hours'.
