A Cumbrian Taekwondo group claimed a podium finish at a Penrith-based championship.
Students from UKTC Taekwon-Do Cumbria, under the name Lakeside Warriors, competed in the UKTC English Taekwon-Do Championships which were held in Penrith on Sunday, April 21.
The team claimed Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals from three events, patterns, sparring, and special technique placing them third in the event overall.
Luke Webster is an instructor at Taekwon-Do Cumbria and commented on his group's success at the championships.
He said: "Our students are dedicated to their art and we couldn't be more proud of all of them, stepping up onto the mats takes courage, competing builds character and confidence, and even just taking part is a huge achievement in itself.
"All of our students always put their best foot forward when stepping up onto the mats, and show a high level of integrity and respect for other competitors, which are two important values of Taekwon-Do."
Luke also encouraged more people to take up Taekwondo, with regular sessions held by the group across West Cumbria.
"Our club is one big family and we always look after our own, we are always happy to meet new faces and are open to everyone of all ages and abilities, whether you are new to martial arts or have previous experience."
