A HISTORIC Lake District pub will open again after being renovated with the owners saying they are 'excited to make their own mark on the Lake District dining experience'.
After closing its doors 15 years ago, The Yew Tree in Seatoller near Keswick is set to reopen.
After an extensive period of renovation and a highly anticipated reopening The Yew Tree is ready to begin welcoming locals and tourists alike for delicious freshly produced meals and local Lake District craft beers.
The thrilling challenge of refurnishing the pub has been undertaken by a young group of friends.
Owner, Prentice Wilkson-Weir, comments “It’s been a long road but we’re nearly there. As a team we’re excited to be going on this new venture together. We are young and passionate individuals and we’re ready to put our own mark on the Lake District dining experience. We’re looking forward to showing the public what The Yew Tree has to offer.”
Head chef Toby King said: “Coming from fine dining I’m excited to take on a new challenge of regenerating a historic pub while using my experience to inject innovation into traditional dishes.
"I’m thrilled for this opportunity and I’m looking forward to producing quality food at a reasonable price.”
It had been no easy feat and their commitment to quality extends beyond the restored interior. With a focus on locally sourced produce from the Borrowdale valley and surrounding areas, the menu offers rustic homecooked food with a modern twist. From brunch to dinner
The Yew Tree plans to accommodate visitors’ anticipation for flavoursome food from Wednesday-Sunday between midday to 9pm.
Stepping outside the newly restored establishment, The Yew Tree boasts a spacious riverside beer garden that is nestled in the heart of the valley.
