A Cumbrian school has retained its 'Good' status following a recent Ofsted inspection.
Great Corby School and Nursery, located in Carlisle, were visited by Ofsted in late March as part of the department's commitment to re-evaluate good schools roughly every four years.
This was the school's second inspection since it was judged as Good in March 2014.
The report states: "Pupils thrive at this vibrant school. They are polite and respectful. Pupils value the highly positive relationships that they have with staff and with each other. They are happy.
"Pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), respond well to the high aspirations that the school has for their achievement and conduct.
"Children in the early years settle in quickly, as a result of the warm welcome that they receive from staff. Pupils make a valuable contribution to the life of the school. For example, as school councillors, they have improved the activities that are available for pupils during social times."
Headteacher Kirsty Fox said: "Receiving an OFSTED report of 'good' is a fantastic achievement for our school and nursery and a reflection of the dedication and hard work from our brilliant pupils, our exceptional staff, and our amazing community of parents, carers, trustees and volunteers.
"We are especially pleased that the inspectors singled out the behaviour of our pupils, our ambitious curriculum, and our approach to delivering early years education for which we were recently reached the finals of The Nursery World Awards for the ‘Early Years in Schools Award."
James Daplyn Chair of Trustees added: "Our brilliant school and nursery is going from strength to strength. The passion and commitment from the staff, pupils, and trustees has shone through as part of our OFSTED inspection and it will be no surprise to anyone who is connected with the school that we have once again been graded as Good.
"We pride ourselves on being at the heart of our rural community, the positive attitude of our pupils and the breadth of learning opportunities and activities that are offered for each child to prepare them for modern life."
