A MOUNTAIN rescue team helped a walker descend Scafell Pike.
They had taken ill on the mountain after they had tried to photograph the northern lights.
A Wasdale MRT spokesperson said: "A call was received from Cumbria Police from the partner of a lone walker. The walker had taken ill on the descent after summiting Scafell Pike to photograph the Aurora.
"The team leader made contact and it was agreed to monitor progress carefully via Phonefind location and further discussion.
"Thankfully the walker’s condition improved later in the descent and he was able to make his own way to the valley and then home without the team being called out. We wish him well."
