WESTMORLAND and Furness Council is running tennis coaching sessions.

These sessions will run from May 28 until May 30 at Penrith Castle Park for ages 4 to 18.

Westmorland and Furness Council Cabinet Member for Sustainable Communities and Localities, Councillor Virginia Taylor, said:

“This is an ‘ace’ opportunity for children of all ages and abilities to have a bit of fun, pick up some tips or enjoy trying something new, whether beginner or novice.

“Healthy and happy lives are a priority for the council and sports provision, from clubs through to facilities, play a huge role in community life.

"These newly refurbished tennis courts are a great asset to the town, and I hope these sessions capture the interest and joy of our young people.

"By enjoying more active free time, this supports their longer-term health and wellbeing while improving life skills such as developing resilience and building confidence.”

The coaching will be delivered over three days during May Half Term by Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Level 2 qualified coaches from Ullswater and Eden Junior Tennis Club.
