OUTLINE planning permission is being sought for four houses in a village outside of Penrith.
The proposed site for the detached homes is on vacant land in Yanwath, southeast of Ivy Cottage.
The outline proposal was submitted to Westmorland & Furness' Planning Authority by Graham K Norman (Architect) Ltd.
Each house is proposed to come with a detached garage.
The proposed houses on vacant land will either be 'one and a half storey' or traditional two-storey structures.
The potential development site is a 3000m² paddock accessible from the village road.
12 parking spaces are included in the application.
"Yanwath benefits from local amenities such as a primary school and public house (currently closed) and has a regular bus service (508 Service) running between Penrith and Patterdale," the design and access statement reads.
"The addition of four family houses within the village will help to reinforce the use of its facilities whilst meeting sustainable policy guidelines in order to minimise the dependency of vehicular transport in rural locations."
