Northern Rail have confirmed that a number of services in the north of England will be unable to run or disrupted today due to the heavy rain and flooding in the area.
Services between Carlisle and Barrow-in-Furness are currently unable to run.
Services between Skipton and Carlisle are currently being disrupted due to flooding. Network rail are en route to site.
Due to heavy rain flooding the railway, services between Carlisle and Workington are being disrupted. Network Rail are aware of the incident and are awaiting an update on how this will impact their services going forwards this morning.
Northern Rail suggest that they hope services will be able to run as normal later this morning, with the forecast a lot better than yesterday.
