Lightning-fast broadband will soon roll out in Calbeck.
It will be delivered by Fibrus as part of the government's Project Gigabit.
The groundwork is being laid, with minimal inconvenience promised to the locals.
Chris Collins, head of network build at Fibrus, said: "At Fibrus, we use a full-fibre optic cable all the way to the premises creating a quality and reliability that cannot be achieved any other way.
"This will make a big difference to local businesses and families in Caldbeck, allowing them to access more reliable broadband rather than having to rely on slow copper wires for their internet.
"Once the work is complete, people will be able to take advantage of Fibrus’ Full Fibre Broadband, with speeds of up to 1Gb."
Caldbeck's development is part of the wider Project Gigabit, labelled by Julia Lopez, the government’s minister for data and digital, as the "biggest broadband rollout in British history".
She said: "Residents and visitors to Caldbeck will soon be able to tap into lightning-fast broadband, thanks to the £108 million we're investing to upgrade rural homes and businesses across Cumbria."
Residents with enquiries can contact Fibrus directly.
Fibrus has also invested £60,000 into local communities via the Fibrus Community Fund.
