Carlisle's European and national boxing champion John Joe Carrigan is set to be assessed by Great Britain coaches.
The Border City Amateur Boxing Club star has been invited to the GB Boxing headquarters at Sheffield.
Top coaches will run the rule over the Todhills teenager who has swept to a series of titles in recent years.
His approach by the GB set-up comes after his victory in the recent European Youth Championships.
Carrigan will attend two camps at the GB HQ in late August and September as he undergoes stage 2 assessments.
The young Cumbrian has already represented England with a series of medal-winning performances.
Now he has the chance to get on the GB pathway.
Carrigan last month boxed his way to success in Croatia when he won gold in the under-71kg category of the EUBC Youth Championships.
He outboxed Oleh Hichva from Ukraine in the final to win an unanimous judges' decision.
It was a second European title for the Carlisle star, after his victory in the EUBC Junior Championships on his first England outing overseas in 2023.
He has won a series of regional and national titles, while recently he also won gold at the Ed Bilbey Box Cup in Lincolnshire.
Speaking on social media about his GB call-up, his proud club at Border City said: "Hard work and dedication is paying off.
"From a little six-year-old that couldn’t run round the block, to x2 European champion and seven national titles, John Joe has been selected for GB Boxing assessment later this year ….WOW.
"Big things coming, keep up the good work John Joe from everyone at your club."
