THE ten finalists in the News & Star's 'Best Chippy 2024' award have been revealed.
These finalists have been chosen by News & Star readers after a week of online nominations which started on Monday, May 20, and concluded on Sunday, May 26.
The ten finalists who will all be in the running to be crowned News & Star 'Best Chippy 2024' are:

Caddy’s Fish & Chips, Newtown Road, Carlisle
Central Chippy, Central Avenue, Carlisle
CJ’s Chip Shop, High Street, Wigton
The Dalston Fryer, The Square, Dalston
Fontanas, London Road, Carlisle
Gina’s Plaice, King Street, Wigton
Morton Fryer, Stonegarth, Carlisle
Paolo’s Fish and Chips, Denton Street, Carlisle
The Fryery, Scotland Road, Carlisle
News & Star readers will now be able to vote for their favourite finalist by picking up a copy of the daily newspaper between Monday, June 3, and Saturday, June 15.
In addition, we will be highlighting the shortlisted chippys in our competition in the News & Star. Each of the establishments will be featured over ten issues.
After this final voting stage has concluded the winner will be crowned as the News & Star's 'Best Chippy 2024' during the week commencing Monday, June 24.
