A NEW Italian mini bistro has said that it is 'very pleased' after a successful grand opening.

The new bistro, named Mondello and located on Brampton's Front Street, officially opened on Saturday, May 18, three weeks later than originally planned due to incomplete work in its basement.

However, the new dining spot, which is owned by Italian native Marco Bouglia, has been welcomed to the Brampton food scene.

News and Star: Speaking a week after Mondello's grand opening, Marco was on hand to express his delight at the initial feedback the bistro had received.

He said: "We have had a lot of support since we opened and we are very pleased.

"Everybody who came in is pleased, everyone loves the atmosphere, everybody loves the decorations, and everyone likes the freshness and the taste of the food that we cook fresh every morning.

"We are serving good quality meat, good quality chicken, good quality antipasti, good quality wood-fired pizzas, and Sicilian spaghetti and pasta.

For Marco, Mondello was the perfect way to fill a gap in the market town's food scene and he believes that locals have welcomed the new addition to the high street.

News and Star: He said: "We have had more than 300 people giving us positive feedback about the taste and the atmosphere.

"It is something new for Brampton. We have got an Indian takeaway, a Chinese takeaway, and now an Italian. All we need is a French restaurant!

"I think people from Brampton and the surrounding area are just so pleased that this kind of business is in the town."

Despite Mondello just having opened, Marco has already turned his thoughts to the future and expressed his belief that it will be his bistro's 'authenticity' that will make it a success in Brampton.

News and Star: "It will be that authenticity and quality of service that will keep Mondello going.

"We are also applying for a premise license so that we can start serving alcohol, mainly white wine, red wine, and prosecco."

Mondello is currently open between Wednesday and Saturday, however, Marco was keen to add that these opening times will be expanded once he has recruited another chef.
