A folk duo that has graced the Glastonbury stage is set to play at a Cumbrian village's parish hall.

Noble Jacks - nominated for the live act of the year at the 2023 UK Americana Awards - will be at Burgh by Sands Parish Hall on June 8, at 7.30pm.

The live performance, organised by Highlights, will feature fiddle-led music.

Noble Jacks have also performed at other internationally acclaimed festivals such as the Isle of Wight, Bestival, Dranouter in Belgium, Paaspop in the Netherlands, and AmericanaFest Nashville in the USA.

After touring the UK and Ireland with The Dead South, the duo released their third studio album, Last Of The Wild, in 2022.

The album soared into the top 40 of the Official Americana Album Chart, and their single 'Never Been Here Before' was a big hit with fans and the press.

Baylen Leonard from Absolute Radio Country said: "Love this song, Noble Jacks build their unique British sensibility on a foundation of bluegrass and roots creating a sound all their own."

2023 marked a memorable year for Noble Jacks as they experienced their biggest-ever headline show at Assembly Halls in Tunbridge Wells.

Kate Lynch, Highlights artistic director, said after watching them perform: "The music was brilliantly unique and their energy inspiring – the audience were up and dancing!

"To be able to bring that sort of crowd-pleasing evening to our village halls is a delight."

The performance is part of a series of live events that will be hosted across County Durham, Cumbria, and Northumberland as part of the Highlights Spring 2024 programme.
