KESWICK Mountain Rescue were tasked with helping a man after her slipped and tripped on his descent, injuring his ankle.

The 44 year old man slipped and tripped on the descent path to Seathwaite from Sty Head Tarn.

The rain and poor visibility had decided them to abort their intended hike up Scafell Pike. The injuried man had went over on his ankle and was unable to continue.

Fortunately at that location there was just enough phone signal to get a call through for a rescue.

Keswick Mountain Rescue assessed the man’s ankle before splinting it and stretching him down to Seathwaite for a handover with the ambulance.

There were 20 team members involved and the rescue took 3 hours 39 minutes.
