LAKE District rescue teams were involved in the search for a missing father and son whose bodies were later discovered in the Scottish Highlands.
Tom Parry, 49, and his 12-year-old son Richie, from Cheshire, failed to return home from a day hiking at Glencoe on Wednesday (May, 29).
The response included contributions from Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team, Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, and a specialist drone unit from Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team, all training nearby.
Hours into the search on Wednesday evening, two bodies were found.
Police said inquiries are ongoing but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.
Inspector Craig Johnstone, from Police Scotland, said: “Our thoughts are with all those involved. I would like to thank all emergency services and Mountain Rescue volunteers.”
A spokesperson from Glencoe MRT said: "We are deeply saddened by this outcome and our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the Parry family at this time.
"We would like to thank the crew of R199, Police Scotland, Lochaber MRT and particularly the volunteers from the Lakes who stepped in to help without hesitation."
