CARLISLE Southern Link Road announced today (June 3) the road which they will be working on.

From today (June 3), Carlisle Southern Link Road will be working on the following roads:

Durdar to the M6

  • Buckabank Road: This will reopen earlier than planned and will be open on Tuesday June 4.
  • Ratten Row: This will be a full closure with no access from Buckabank Road. This closure is to facilitate the earthworks and drainage operations in this area. This small section will be closed for several weeks, with a fully signposted diversion route in place.
  • Wreay Road: This will be a full closure with no access from Newbiggin Road during this period to enable works associated with the new Brisco roundabout. There will be a fully signposted diversion route in place.
  • Ivegill Road: Temporary traffic lights will be in place from Monday to Friday to enable the safe crossing of plant.
  • M6 Junction 42: The Northbound off-slip will be closed with no access to Carlisle from the M6 Northbound at junction 42. The diversion is north to M6 junction 43 and back south on the M6 to exit on the Southbound side of Junction 42. This work is for the installation of new services in readiness for the changes to the junction, and will be in place Monday to Friday.

Carlisle Southern Link Road issued advanced notice that Newbiggin Road will close on Tuesday June 11 to Friday June 14 between Brisco and the M6.

A595 and Dalston Road

Dalston Road: Temporary Traffic lights will be in place to allow for works on and near the road from Monday to Friday.

Carlisle Southern Link Road issued an update that read: "The planned closure of Dalston Road from Monday June 10 will be delayed for one week.

"The Dalston Road closure between Peter Lane and Brow Nelson House for the construction of the new Dalston Road Roundabout will now commence on Monday June 17. A fully signposted diversion route in place via Peter Lane, the A595 and Barras Brow."
