FANS of local hairdressers and barbers are urged to nominate their favourite for the News & Star's 'Best Hairdresser/Barber' award.
Online nominations for the award will close at midnight on Sunday, June 16, and ahead of this deadline, Cumbrian hairdressers and barber enthusiasts are urged to get behind their favourite.

Following this stage of online nominations, readers will then be able to vote for their 'Best Hairdresser/Barber 2024' by picking up editions of the News & Star between Monday, June 24, and Saturday, July 6, with the winner set to be announced on Monday, July 15.

The competition aims to celebrate local hairdressers and barbers in North and West Cumbria and speaking after its launch, Joy Yates, regional editor for Newsquest Cumbria asked readers to support their favourite.
She said: "Most people have their favourite hairdresser or barber - many will have been going to the same stylist for years and years.

"Friendships are often formed and a visit can be so much more than a haircut and offers time for a catch-up and a cuppa.
