A woman from Cumbria has raised more than £1200 for Hospice at Home thanks to some fitness fundraising challenges.
Lynne Williams, from Wigton, runs a gym group for her friends and family.
In recent years, Lynne has put on a half marathon or 10k and asked people to help raise money for a charity close to her heart. This year her motivation changed and going forward her focus is on helping local charities within her local community.
She has already raised £1200 for Hospice at Homes Carlisle & North Lakeland, after completing 100 miles in May alongside her nine-year-old daughter Cerys, and is aiming to raise more ahead of the popular Gelt Gladiator event on Saturday June 8.
Jenny Urwin, Hospice at Home fundraiser, said: "As a charity providing at home end of life care within our community, we rely on nearly 80% of our funding through generous acts of fundraising from people like Lynne and her gym group. Doing their fundraising challenges is a great way to have a positive effect on your health but also positively contribute to the community. They are brilliant ambassadors for the charity and we can’t thank them enough!"
