EVENTS are set to take place across north Cumbria to celebrate Refugee Week from June 17 to 22.
Refugee Week is a celebration of the contribution, creativity, and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.
In Carlisle and Penrith, people will be able to get involved with a whole range of creative and community events.
The week will kick off on June 17 with an art exhibition at Gallery 4a in Penrith. The exhibition showcases art created by a diverse group of people on the subject of the artists future dream home.
There'll be a community film night on June 20 at Carlisle College showing a collection of short films with the stories of refugees.
On Saturday June 22, Carlisle Library will be hosting an Iranian style tea and coffee morning followed by a talk by Reza Shokri.
Events have been organised by Carlisle City of Sanctuary network members including: Carlisle Refugee Action Group, Carlisle College, Carlisle One World Centre, and Tullie.
