An independent cinema is marking an environmentally-themed awareness week by screening three relevant films, with one including a live Q&A session with the director.
The Alhambra Cinema in Penrith announced three screenings for Great Big Green Week, an awareness week which promotes action against climate change, which starts today (June 8).
The three films being screened during the week are: Evil Does Not Exist; XTrillion, and; Wilding.
Evil Does Not Exist tells a story of city residents in Japan learning of a glamping development in the countryside, and the ongoing concerns surrounding its rushed construction.
Wilding, which will include a recorded director’s Q&A, is about a rewilding experiment at a recently-inherited farm.
XTrillion follows the gruelling journey of eXXpedition’s all-women crew led by Emily Penn as they sail 3,000 miles across the North Pacific Ocean through the densest accumulation of ocean plastic on the planet.
XTrillion’s director Eleanor Church will attend a live Q&A on June 16 at 6pm.
