THE Lanes Shopping Centre in Carlisle has issued a warning after a fake Facebook account promoted a "£32m redevelopment" plan for the site.
Widely shared, the false post claimed plans of a cinema, bowling alley, and laser tag for the site.
In a post on social media, the official Lanes account posted: "Please be aware, the below account is a fake Facebook account.
"Do not interact or follow it. It is fake and may be set up to harvest information from you.
"We are in the process of having it taken down.
"Thank you to those who told us and sorry for the inconvenience," they said.
