Tickets have gone on sale for the 2024 Lake District Music Summer Festival with performances from local Cumbria superstar singer Jess Dandy, prize-winning pianist Callum McLachlan, Brodsky String Quartet, Aurora Percussion Duo, London Central Brass and many more.

Taking place from July 26-August 4, the festival will bring to life performances in many of Cumbria’s favourite cultural venues including buildings of stunning architecture such as Holker Hall and Cartmel Priory, as well as intimate shows at the likes of Crosthwaite Church plus outdoor features in the picturesque setting of Grizedale Forest.
Music lovers will be entertained by all types of musical styles from jazz and gospel to chamber music, string quartets and brass bands.

The festival will also continue its tradition of acting as a launchpad for up-and-coming young artists.
With performances for all the family including shows to appeal to children, the 10-day long festival will see musical acts available to watch from 10 or 11am most days right through to evening performances from 7.30pm.

Venues are as far south as Cark and Cartmel, through to Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale, Ulverston, Windermere and up through to Ambleside and Grasmere.
Interactive performances include the chance for budding singers to join a Community Gospel Choir under the guidance of acclaimed director Ken Burton.

Meanwhile younger visitors can enjoy stories, myths and legends told with the accompaniment of music and songs from pianist Neil Brand at Beyond the sky – Space Adventures at Windermere Jetty Museum.

Alternatively, for interactive outdoor fun, Sounds of the Forest in Grizedale Forest combines foraging and music to ignite the imaginations of little ones as they make instruments from items they find on the forest floor.
