PLANS to add a sign to a Carlisle building have been approved by Cumberland Council.

The application related to the front of Cumbria House, in Botchergate, and the proposed signage will be non-illuminated.

According to the decision notice, which was published on Monday (June 10), it is limited to a five-year period and it must follow what is outlined in the submitted documents.

In a response from a council conservation officer he said he had no adverse comment on the application.

A separate report states: "The fascia sign comprises the Cumberland Council logo and the words Cumbria House underneath.

"The sign will measure 2.17 metres in height, 2.04 metres in width and will be 4.5 metres from the ground."
