TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in Carlisle in which a young girl has been left hospitalised.
A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the incident on Whernside.
Police received the initial report of a male with stab wounds at 8.06am today, June 10. Officers attended and also located a woman and child with stab wound injuries.
A 55-year-old man has been arrested and is in police custody.
A 53-year-old woman has also been arrested, and remains in hospital in a stable condition.
A girl of primary school age who was also injured remains in hospital but is in a stable condition.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: "There continues to be no further risk to the public and they should expect to see a continue police presence in the area whilst officers carry out investigations.
