DRIVERS in and around Carlisle will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under ten minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M6, from 8pm January 13 to 8pm August 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 43 to 44, Lane three closures with narrow lane two to replace VRS.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A69, from 7pm June 10 to 6am June 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 eastbound, from Brampton to Gilsland - Various small traffic light setups for SU Fibre blowing works.

• A69, from 7pm June 22 to 4am June 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 eastbound, Aglionby - traffic signals to carry out Electrical testing.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
