STIX Percussion Drum School has been working with Moor Row School providing lessons for whole classes about Samba-style drumming.

Stix Percussion in association with Emmanuel Church Moor Row is offering pupils the chance to enter a free Art Competition.

Andy Kelly, of Stix Percussion, said: "There will be three main prizes and two runner-up prizes for each class. Years 1 and 2, 3 and 4, and years 5 and 6.

"Three top prizes are gift vouchers for The Entertainer (The Toy Shop) and the runner-up prizes are art-related.

"Pupils are asked to produce some art with the theme of drums. This could be two or three dimensions. Painting, drawing, pastels, collage, mosaic, modeling, or scrap building.

"The entries will need to be dropped off at Emmanuel Church on Dalzell Street or at Moor Row School by and including July 5.

"Independent judges will be helping to decide the three winners in each age category.

"Notifications of winners and runners-up will be sent to school before the summer holidays.

"Entries will be stored at Emmanuel Church Dalzell Street and we will arrange a viewing date and circulate a video of entries for everyone to see."
