A WOMAN will take on three challenges in three weeks to raise money for charity.

Lisa Johnson, of Whitehaven, will tackle three challenges over the coming weeks to raise money for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

Lisa's Dad passed away five years ago and was treated by Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

Since then, she has done various fundraising events, however, she says this challenge will be her biggest yet.

Lisa said: "I raise money every year for Hospice at Home because my dad died of pancreatic cancer in September 2019.

"Hospice at Home staff were there when he died, and they were unbelievable with the palliative care and aftercare.

"I raise money every year and try to do something different, and, of course, this year I've decided to do the three challenges in three weeks.

"The first challenge is in memory of my dad, and I'll be completing it on Father's Day.

"It's the highest skydive in the UK, I'll be falling from 15,000 feet."

The following week Lisa will be completing the Via Ferrata at Honister Mine. This is the UK's original Via Ferreta in the Lake District combining scrambling and climbing across Honister Crag, while securely harnessed to a cable for safety.

Along the course, there are overhang descents, a Burma Bridge, and a sky ladder.

Thirdly, Lisa will be tackling the Coledale Ten Peak challenge. This covers 13 miles and an ascent of 1,700 metres.

The challenge is said to take between seven to nine hours to complete. Participants are guided through the Northwestern fells of the Lake District.

Lisa continued: "I'm hoping to raise as much as I can, my minimum target is £1,000 and so far, I've raised £340.

"I've been doing the challenges annually for the past five years. I've been partaking in different activities over the years and last year I managed to raise £3,000 for the charity.

"I've never done anything this extreme before. Some of the things I've done in the past have been a raffle, a race night, charity bucket work, but never anything on this scale."
