Cumbria Golf Simulators to open in Carlisle's Kingmoor Park

Cumbria Golf Simulators is set to open at an indoor unit on Kingmoor Park Central, on Kingmoor Park Road, on Saturday, June 15. 

Tony Denham, having worked at various golf clubs throughout the country and more recently in golf simulators, hopes to offer something different in the city after moving to the area. 

The simulator, which operates seven days a week from 9am to 10pm, allows golfers to play on virtual replicas of over 1,000 renowned courses.

"You can book for one hour, where one person can play a round of 18 holes," Tony said.

"Two hours, two to maybe three players but we can cater to up to eight people in one sim so it can be an eightball if you'd like.

“You can play Pinehurst, St Andrews, Pebble Beach, Augusta - we've got the lot. 

"You’ve also got practice facilities – driving ranges and putting.

"It’s brilliant,  you can pick a hole, say the 12th at Augusta, and you can just hit your 9 irons at that hole and keep repeating it to improve your swing," he said.

Players are encouraged to bring their own clubs (which have to be relatively clean), while Callaway and TaylorMade golf balls are provided on-site.

You can also bring clean golf shoes.  

“The VX system we have, a camera takes a video of your club impacting the ball. You can see if your face is open or closed, all sorts of stuff.

"The area needs something like this because I’ve heard it rains up here – this will keep you nice, dry and warm," Tony said.

Ahead of the grand opening on Saturday, Tony has extended a special invitation for anyone to visit and try the simulator, for an hour for free today (June 14).
