A new dining spot is set to grace the historic market town of Penrith.

Named Kneady Folk, it promises to be a culinary haven for food lovers, brought to life by Lucy Andrew, a chef with 14-years of experience.

Disenchanted by the limited brunch offerings in her town, she decided to use her wealth of culinary knowledge to diversify Penrith's food scene.

The vision is for Kneady Folk to be more than just a dining spot, becoming also a welcoming space for people to unwind, drink quality coffee, and indulge in homemade baked goods.

With a focus on globally-inspired brunches, seasonal salads, and tempting baked treats, the aim is to become a comfortable gathering place for food enthusiasts.

In addition to affordable brunch dishes taking inspiration from Berlin, Geneva, and Italy, Kneady Folk will cater to all types of diners and pocket sizes.

The path from concept to plate is one laden with passion and imagination from Ms Andrew.

As a female chef in a historically male-led sector, she is eager to spotlight the innovation and talent women can bring.

Kneady Folk has plans to host several pop-up events, such as book groups, wine tastings, taco and beer nights, affordable tasting menus and seasonal festivities.

However, establishing a new business comes with evident financial hurdles.

Ms Andrews is tackling this by starting a Kickstarter campaign set to take care of costs like branding, packaging, POS systems, uniforms, ingredients, the construction of an adequate kitchen and more.

She said: "I am incredibly excited to bring Kneady Folk to Penrith and share my love of food with this wonderful community.

"With your support, we can create a vibrant culinary hub that not only serves delicious meals but also brings people together.

"Let’s put Penrith on the map as a must-visit destination for food lovers."

Ms Andrew invites everyone to join Kneady Folk's journey on Instagram @kneadyfood and witness its growth into an integral part of Penrith's identity.
