A member of Cumberland Council has received a prestigious award.

Paul Charters, senior technician in highways and transport, scooped the Platinum Award for Address and Street Data in this year's Exemplar Awards.

The reward honours local authorities that maintain Gold status in the Annual Improvement Schedule for 10 out of 12 months of a year.

Karl Melville, assistant director of highways and transport, said: "We are incredibly proud of Paul for achieving Platinum status.

"This recognition underscores the outstanding efforts of our team in ensuring the highest standards in address and street data management."
