A RENOWNED chef is excited to bring his "essence and ethos" of the Michelin-starred Dog & Gun in Skelton to a luxury accommodation and wedding venue on the outskirts of Carlisle. 

Hidden River Cabins, located in Longtown, announced on Facebook this week that respected chefs Jonathon Watson and Skelton's the Dog & Gun's Ben Queen-Fryer would be joining the restaurant team. 

"Leveraging my extensive experience, I will define the food strategy to ensure that the quality, values, and tastes you have come to expect are integrated into the culinary offerings at Hidden River," Ben said. 

Ahead of the new collaborative project, Ben stated that The Dog and Gun, awarded a Michelin Star in 2022, will remain his primary concern.]

"Whilst my primary focus will remain on The Dog and Gun, I will oversee a carefully selected team to ensure that the esteemed quality and flavours are reflected in the food at Hidden River.

"In this venture, my business partner Jonny Watson will serve as the permanent chef director at Hidden River.

"Together, we will work to ensure that the essence and ethos of the Michelin-starred Dog and Gun are embodied in the food offerings, allowing me to continue concentrating on maintaining and evolving the menus at our pub," he said.
