A RENOWNED chef is excited to bring his "essence and ethos" of the Michelin-starred Dog & Gun in Skelton to a luxury accommodation and wedding venue on the outskirts of Carlisle.

Hidden River Cabins, located in Longtown, announced on Facebook this week that respected chefs Jonathon Watson and Skelton's the Dog & Gun's Ben Queen-Fryer would be joining the restaurant team.

"Using my extensive experience I will define the food strategy, ensuring that the quality, values, and tastes you know are integrated into the food offerings at Hidden River," Ben said.

Ahead of the new collaborative project, Ben stated that The Dog and Gun, awarded a Michelin Star in 2022, will remain his principle concern.

"Whilst my principal focus will always be The Dog and Gun, I’ll be overseeing a hand-picked team, to ensure that the quality and flavours you cherish are reflected in the food there.

"My business partner Jonny Watson in this venture will be the permanent chef director based at Hidden River, he and I will work on this collaboration to ensure that the essence and ethos of Michelin Starred The Dog and Gun is present in the food offer and that I’m able to keep my day-to-day focus on maintaining and evolving the menus in the pub," he said.
