A WEST Cumbrian man has adorned his house in England flags, hoping to encourage the Three Lions to bring the title home ahead of Euro 2024.

Eric Gillespie, who lives on Priory Drive in Cleator Moor, has covered his house with England flags and decorations ahead of the English campaign starting today, June 16.

England's Euro 2024 campaign kicks off this evening at 8pm when England take on Serbia in the group stages of the competition.

Speaking about why he has decorated the house, Eric said: "I have kept the faith with England, been to England matches - so they will bring it home, I am sure this time."

It's not the first time Eric has decorated his home, with the Cleator Moor man putting on fantastic light displays on the front of the house and his garden every Christmas, along with a Santa's Grotto bringing much joy to the people of the town.

Talking about the reaction to his latest display, Eric said: "It's been fantastic. I am English and proud, so when the World Cup and Euros come round the flags will fly with pride.

"I haven't finished yet - still some more to go up, and flags for the house across the road. Hopefully they will be up for a month 'til the final when we beat Germany 3-1.

"I have a flutter on it."
