A LOCAL train station has been given a spruce up by a group of volunteers who gave up their time to help the town.
Maryport Train Station was given the small makeover this morning (June 17).
The work included planters which have been filled with beautiful plants and flowers, the perspex has given a clean and refresh, the fence has been painted and all the fact signs around the station have been given a well-needed clean.
The work at the train station was organised and funded by Northern Trains and ISS.
Maryport Business Group said: "It has been done with the support of Community Rail Cumbria who couldn’t undertake this work without the selfless volunteer work of our own community champions The Maryporter’s.
"We would like to thank all the above for the fantastic work being done in our wonderful town."
The Maryporter's are a group of volunteers who work to support the town, people, shops and environment.
