DRIVERS in and around Carlisle will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of less than ten minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M6, from 8pm January 13 to 6am July 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 43 to 44, Lane three closures with narrow lane two to replace VRS.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A69, from 9am to 4pm on June 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 both directions Scotby dual carriageway - Lane closures with switching for landscaping works.

• A69, from 7pm June 22 to 4am June 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 eastbound, Aglionby - traffic signals to carry out Electrical testing.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
