A MAN accused of attempting to meet a child intending to have sexual activity has been remanded in custody.
Lee Sheehan, 41, of Henry Street, Cleator Moor, appeared at Workington Magistrates’ Court this morning to face the following charges:
- Intentionally attempting to communicate with a person under 16 for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, namely arranging for the child to stay overnight and to have sexual intercourse with her
- Attempting to meet a girl under the age of 16 and intending to do something to her during or after the meeting, which would have involved sexual activity with a child
- Intentionally arranging or facilitating an act which would involve sexual activity with a child
The offences are alleged to have taken place in Cleator Moor between June 12 and June 17.
Sheehan was remanded in custody to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on July 22.
