GENERAL election candidates for Whitehaven and Workington will answer questions from the public at a hustings event to be held next week.
It has been arranged by the Whitehaven Mission Community group of churches and will be held in Whitehaven’s United Reformed Church.
Josh MacAlister (Labour), Andrew Johnson (Conservative) and Chris Wills (Liberal Democrat) are confirmed to be attending and Jill Perry (Green Party), who is not available, will send a statement. It is not yet known if David Surtees (Reform UK) will attend.
The hustings are an opportunity for people to speak to the candidates about issues that matter to them.
Rev Alistair Smeaton, the United Reformed Church minister, will chair the event. Questions will be submitted in writing on arrival.
The event will be held on Friday, June 28 at 7.30pm.
