WE'RE highlighting the shortlisted hairdressers and barbers in our competition in the News & Star. Each of the establishments will be featured over the following issues.
Gilded Gold Design House has been nominated by News & Star readers as one of the ten finalists in its 'Best Hairdresser/Barber 2024' award.
The salon, which is located on Carlisle's Wigton Road, is owned by Mark Noble who opened Gilded Gold in 2021.
After being informed that Gilded Gold Design House has been nominated as a finalist in the News & Star's 'Best Hairdresser/Barber 2024' award, Mark was on hand to express his delight.
He said: "I'm absolutely over the moon.
"It's so flattering. I think my clients would agree that they have watched me work really hard for this so to get some recognition of that from my clients is amazing.
"At the end of the day, it is about putting the time and effort in. I have worked hard for many years in Carlisle to build up my clientele and after opening this salon it has just got stronger and stronger.
"I specialise in cut and colour, we have got girls who specialise in hair extensions and hair up but we are so much broader than just a salon.
"People so that work online and I think people like that we try to be interactive with them."
Mark also discussed how Gilded Gold prioritises the creation of a good atmosphere that leaves their customers feeling like they are 'part of the family'.
He said: "The feedback I always get for our place is that we are very relaxed as a company.
"We are professional but we like to provide comfort to our customers as in letting them feel part of the family and a lot of people come in here say that they come in here in a bad mood and they leave laughing their head off.
"It is flattering that people love to come in here and it is all about creating that environment where people can come in see their friends and have a laugh."
