The salon and hairdresser, which is located on Carlisle's Lonsdale Street, is owned by Lei Morrison opened the Love your hair by Lei in 2021
After being informed that Love your hair by Lei has been nominated as a finalist in the News & Star's 'Best Hairdresser/Barber 2024' award, Lei was on hand to express his delight.
She said: "I'm over the moon that we have been nominated.
"It means a lot to me that my clients have gone out of their way to nominate us"
Lei also discussed what she offers at her salon and her focus on helping her clients get their favourite looks at home.
She said: "I like to make all my clients feel like they are at home so I think that is why people like us.
"I do specialise in bright colours and I have a few clients that come for that, I also ae a girl that comes up from Manchester for that as well.
"We do every aspect of hair including men's, colours, hair extensions, and nails and brows.
"I also like my clients to know the knowledge of the products so they know how to get their hair at home how it is at the client."
Finally, Lei discussed the community she has built around her salon and thanked her clients for their continuing support.
She said: "I feel like hairdressers are kind of like therapists, we listen and we care about how our clients are feeling.
"I always say that my clients are my friends and some of those friends have become family as well.
"I opened my business five months before lockdown so that was hard and I didn't know if I was going to have any clients after that but to see so many people return week after week and year after year has been amazing."
