KIRKGATE in Cockermouth will be closed to traffic until further notice due to a collision.
The collision occurred this evening (June 19) according to Allerdale Police, and has left the corner building with "substantial structural damage".
The road will now be assessed and made safe, it will then be re-opened to the public.
There were roadworks being done to the area at the time, and it is believed that a lorry with machinery on the back got stuck. This caused damage to Kirkgate Corner.
