Cumberland Council have issued an update on the proposed carriage way improvement works on Moorhouse Road, between Burgh Road junction and the A689 CNDR Roundabout.

The works are scheduled to take place from Monday, June 24 for three weeks, weather permitting.

To ensure safety, the road will be closed in two phases:

Phase 1: A689 Roundabout to Beaver Road – Monday, June 24 to Monday, July 1. White lining: Thursday, July 11 to Friday, July 12.

Phase 2: Beaver Road to Burgh Road Junction - Tuesday, July 2 to Wednesday, July 10.

The works will take place between 8.00am to 5.00pm, each day, excluding weekends.

During the works, Moorhouse Road, between Burgh Road junction and the A689 CNDR Roundabout, will be closed, with a signed diversion route.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained and the council have asked residents to plan their journeys accordingly and follow the designated diversion route.

“These improvements have been scheduled for the above dates but are weather dependant.”
