Police in Cumbria have been out again catching motorists suspected of breaking the law.
In their most recent efforts, they said officers stopped a 33-year-old male driver who was going too fast and driving irresponsibly in Whitehaven town centre.
On speaking to the driver, the vehicle smelt heavily of cannabis, they said.
“On conducting a roadside drug wipe with the driver the test line came back positive for cannabis after a few minutes.
“Any line in the test line is positive according to the law, whether faint or prominent,” a spokesperson from Cumbria police said.
The man was arrested and taken into custody, and a blood sample was taken.
He was released under investigation pending the blood test coming back.
“If you drive in front of police irresponsibly, you will get pulled over and spoken to,” the spokesperson added.
