Lifeboat volunteers were called out to help a fishing boat with an engine failure.
Crew members from Workington RNLI were called out at 1.18pm yesterday (June 23) to reports of the boat, reported as ‘being in difficulty’ off the coast of Allonby.
Crews launched all-weather lifeboat Dorothy May White to the 24ft fishing vessel which had two people aboard.
“For safety reasons, the coxswain made the decision to tow the boat into Maryport Harbour,” a Workington RNLI spokesperson said.
