Artists from a local collective are showcasing their work at a new gallery in Maryport this summer. 

Makers and artists from the Carlisle Contemporary Art group will host their summer exhibition at the Shipping Brow Gallery which recently opened in Maryport. 

Artwork being displayed includes pieces that have been created depicting the port town. 

Members of Carlisle Contemporary Arts showcasing their works are Anne Bryson, Craig Hamilton, Mark Hamilton, David Hollins, David Lush, Amanda Mudge and Ray Pearson.

Guest painter Keith Bartley is also showcasing exclusive work in the show. He is the nephew of Norman Cornish, a northeast mining artist.

Carlisle Contemporary Arts was founded in 2018 and the group ran a successful gallery in the Old Fire Station before closing due to Covid in 2020.

They continue to hold exhibitions in Carlisle and its surrounding area as an arts co-operative. 

The work will be displayed at the Shipping Brow Gallery until July 28, it will be open Wednesday to Sunday between 10am-4pm.
