An investigation into a robbery in which a phone was stolen is underway.

Cumbria police said it happened between 6.45pm and 7pm on June 14 on Castlegate in Penrith, just down from the Station Hotel.

It involved a male suspect taking a victim’s phone ‘with force after a short scuffle’, a police spokesperson said.

They added: “The suspect was wearing a fluorescent orange top with grey trousers.

“The victim has blonde hair and was wearing light blue leggings.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
